In this podcast, Patrick speaks to Miss Bridget Pendame who chaired the Electoral Commission(EC) which oversaw the November 2023 KUHeS SRC Elections.
The Elections were marred by allegations of unfairness and lack of transparency. Julius and some of his supporters accused the EC of unfair filtering of duplicates. But the chair strongly dismisses the accusations.
She admits that there were duplicates but the EC chose not to communicate to students saying they knew the problem would be dealt with within 24hrs. The EC further feared that notifying students about that, would have caused more problems.
Does transparency mean only communicating unsolvable problems?
